Obviously the insurance companies are overwhelmed, but there was absolutely no way that I could contact AIG to ask a simple question. I filed the claim online but all of the forms asked for a claim number. Finally I decided to file without a claim number only to discover that the number is assigned only after all of the electronic documents are uploaded. This could have been easily handled by the customer care team, but after two weeks I still have no answer.
The claim was finally settled but my assessment remains the same. The company should have updated the website that assured me that my inquiry would be answered promptly. This expectation caused at least a week of unnecessary delay.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my trip for reasons not covered by the policy. Glad I had it in the event I would have needed it; however, very frustrating to having purchased something that does not provide any benefit or worth when it is needed.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. We are sorry to learn that you had to cancel your trip. We understand that it is never pleasant to receive a denial for reimbursement under the Trip Cancellation coverage. However, your reason to cancel your trip must be specifically stated as a covered reason in the policy.
Comprehensive plans are designed to cover as many risks as possible,
but it appears that your trip was cancelled due to an event that would not be covered by any policy that we offer on our site.

It gave me the coverage I wanted for a reasonable price. Thankfully, I did not have to file a claim. That would be the true test of the policy. Ease of filing a claim, helpfulness of staff, and if the policy truly insures what it says it will.
