The good news is, we didn’t have to use the insurance, but it makes it more difficult to evaluate how good they are. But they did send us an email right before our trip making themselves available if we had any issues during our trip.

Age should not be the only criteria for establishing cost. At 70 and 76, we are healthier than many 40-50 year olds. Perhaps a better approach could be considered. A health questionnaire filled out by our doctor or??

A friend had the same plan and had to cancel their trip for medical reasons. AIG has given them the run a round for months. I would never use AIG based on their experience alone.

Thank you for your feedback. Your or a friend's negative claims experience can ruin the perception of travel insurance and deter you from future purchases. However, there are many factors that affect a claim which may certainly vary from one traveler to another, so we caution you on making that determination based on that claim.

The plan almost covered everything I would have needed covered, just not 100%. Thank goodness I did not need to make any sort of a claim, but lastly, I wish the rates were not so high. I'm sure so many more people would get this coverage, if it was more affordable. It is definitely not cheap. But glad I had it.

Thank you for providing your feedback. There are 3 main factors that determine premium costs: the cost of the trip, the length of the trip, and the travelers ages.
Please also note that coverages are per person. Trip Cancellation does provide 100% reimbursement up to your total trip cost if you must cancel your trip for a covered reason.

I actually made use of the Travel Guard concierge service inasmuch as Lufthansa cancelled our flight back to the States about 24 hours before we were to take off. The alternative that Lufthansa offered had a long delay, and we had trouble arranging for alternative service, ultimately getting assistance from Travel Guard in confirming seating on a UA flight so we would arrive back in Seattle only a bit over 5 hours late. The TG concierge was better than working with Travelocity concierge, and way better than working with any airline, at least in the middle of the night.

We were in touch with them as my husband developed a medical problem and we weren’t sure if we would have to leave the cruise ship. I was unable to reach them by email as they only list a phone # and I was out at sea. I emailed my son in the states and he reached them and was able to get me a contact name , email address and claim #. They were very supportive and explained limits of our coverage. Since I only purchased emergency evacuation I would have had to pay if we decided to just fly home early but would have coverage if ship MD disembarked us to hospital. Luckily things improved so we stayed on the ship and no claim was filed. I was impressed with the help and response I got from this company.

Thank you for your 4 1/2 star review of your AIG Travel Guard policy. In addition to emergency medical evacuation, your plan also included a secondary medical limit of 50,000 USD which would have reimbursed your for hospital expenses. However, you did not have trip interruption so you had no reimbursement for your unused, prepaid, non-refundable travel expense if you had ended your cruise early and returned home.
