I thought the plan was good but when I found out that I paid almost $90 for a 10 day trip and my bag got lost on the way back, I called and they told me that delayed baggage coverage was only for the way there which I obviously didn't know before. The customer service rep for AXA wasn't very friendly about it either. Luckily my bag turned up and I didn't need to make a claim. But I already paid for another policy for AXA for my next trip in October (previously paid for) so I probably won't use that company next year when I travel or I will read the fine print and pay less!

We do suggest reviewing the policy certificate, before and after you purchase a policy, to ensure you know what your policy does and does not cover. There are plans available that do offer baggage coverage to and from your destination, but as you know not all do. Since I had canceled my trip for 2019, and rescheduled it for 2020 I didn’t use the insurance that I had purchased. There was a ton of red tape In order to change the dates from 2019 to the 2020 trip. It would have been easier to get congress to actually do something, than to change the dates on the policy. Basically I ended up wasting the cost of the policy, and will just get another one for the 2020 trip.

Thank you for your review. Insurance providers do allow travelers to transfer their policies from one trip to another. By transferring the policy to a future trip it allows customers to not lose the premium paid for the original policy, but it does require certain documentation to be submitted. Upon notice of the transfer request, an email is sent to the customer with the documentation requirements before the request is sent to the provider for processing. Please call us at 800-487-4722 if you need any assistance with making a change to your policy, we would be happy to assist you.
Once the claim got to the right organization, it was processed quickly and promptly. But the email address on insuremytrip.com for submitting a claim was wrong. After several months sitting with no action, the claim was denied (they didn't have the right policy documents), and then they decided it should have been sent to a different claims processor. Once it got there, everything proceeded smoothly.

We apologize for the confusion in filing your claim. After you purchased your policy, American Modern Home insurance Company transferred their claims handling to another company. We apologize for not advising you in a more timely basis.
I am glad I purchased trip insurance for a once in life time 2 week trip to Italy. Luckily nothing prevented us from taking the trip and we didn't have any issues during the trip so we didn't need to file a claim. It would be nice if you use the same company several times for different trips that they provide you some type of rebate or cash back if you don't need to file any claims.
