my entire trip was canceled long before travel. I asked for a refund because of this. They refused, saying that Holland America didn't refund my deposit, using this as an excuse for denying a refund. HA did refund the deposit.

Kind of hard to rate the plan and/or answer specific questions when no claim was filed (thankfully). That's the only way to know if the coverage was good and service efficient...or not.

This travel plan was expensive and I have no confidence at all that if needed, AXA would actually help us or pick up expenses. I need to rethink whether I need travel insurance in the future.

We thank you for your comments. Policy premiums are based on (1) age of travelers, (2) trip cost, and (3) length of trip. Your premium was only 0.059% of your total trip cost which was actually economically priced when compared to other plans with comparable coverage.
We are also happy to hear that your travels were without incident so that you did not need the services of AXA Assistance USA. However, if you had needed their services, you had access to 24 Hour Worldwide Assist Services which would included but was not limited to:
