It's difficult to review and rate this type of insurance. One can only determine its value if one files a claim. However, peace of mind in having the insurance (should the worst happen) is probably worth the cost of the policy.

I had to appeal three times before $40 of my $120 claim for expenses incurred as a result of baggage delay was allowed. They didn't think the cost of transportation to get to a store to purchase needed clothing was reimbursable. People I spoke to on the phone had no authority to deal with the claim. The documents sent to me referred to me as "the patient" on what was obviously a medical insurance form. I think the claim was finally allowed only because I was stubborn and persistent.

I've used AXA Assistance USA Gold plan twice, both times I had to use it unfortunately. Once for a trip delay caused by the airline, another time for an illness. Both times they processed it relatively quickly, were very kind over the phone, and fulfilled our claim. I recommend AXA Assistance and will continue to use them for my travels.

I am very happy I found this plan. I talked with both insuremytrip and AXA to make sure it met my needs. Both were extremely helpful on the phone. I had very particular insurance needs that this plan met. I am using them again for my next trip. The price was extremely reasonable in comparison to other companies.
