Once again we did not need to use the insurance but, it feels real good knowing it is there. I have filed a claim only once in the last ten years. It was paid as filed in about two weeks after the paperwork was submitted.

Insurance is always a good idea when planning a pricey once-in-a-lifetime dream vacation. Fortunately, our trip was fully enjoyed without any interruption or issue. Having this coverage gave us peace of mind knowing that if anything went off the rails, our financial loss would be minimized.

I had to cancel my trip because of unexpected health issues. AXA uses a subcontractor to actually process the claim. The amount of detailed documentation demanded, and the unending requests for "more" information, dragged for months. Although they did finally reimburse for the appropriate expenses, I actually reduced the amount of my claim during the process because Delta unexpectedly refunded the cost my "nonrefundable" tickets; kudos to Delta. I don't know how AXA would have handled the plane ticket costs or change fee had we needed to resolve that issue, since I couldn't travel within the allotted time frame of allowable reticketing.

All good except we find the price went up because of our age although we both are in excellent health. To be fair, I expect that most insurers do this.

I bought this insurance way back last Fall 2017. I am getting older with a failing memory to what i had done or where I even put my notes. I had to go to my credit card bills to find the phone number, call and cross check what I had done. I would suggest that as trip time approaches, an email from you telling me what I had done and that I WAS insured with you would have been VERY HELPFUL! Even two or three reminders asking if I had any questions or concerns like 3 months in advance, two months before and then a week before.
