they include coverage for terrorist attacks only at locations on itinerary. Has to be determined to be terrorists to be covered. Does not seem to cover local uprisings.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. Your interpretation of terrorism coverage is correct, and we would like to share this knowledge with fellow customers.

In order to be eligible for coverage against terrorist incidents, the event must occur within a city listed on your trip itinerary or within a 50-100 mile radius of the city, occur within a specified amount of time prior to the scheduled departure date (7-30 days) for Trip Cancellation coverage, and fit the plan's definition of a terrorist incident.

There are two basic ways that travel insurance companies define covered terrorist incidents:

    1) An incident deemed a terrorist attack by the United States government.

    2) An act of violence, other than civil disorder or riot, (that is not an act of war, declared or undeclared) that results in loss of life or major damage to property, by any person acting on behalf of or in connection with any organization which is generally recognized as having the intent to overthrow or influence the control of any government.

Please keep in mind the information included in this response is a general rule of thumb. The wording of terrorism coverage can vary slightly or significantly from plan to plan. Please read the terms and conditions of the policy you are interested in, and call us for assistance at 800-487-4722.

I would have liked the look back period for preexisting conditions to have been shorter, say 90 days instead of 180. Or, at least, give some optional periods, priced accordingly.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. InsureMyTrip offers plans with 60 day and 120 day look back periods. Depending upon a number of factors, these plans may or may not be more expensive than the CSA Travel Protection Custom plan. In the future, please call us at 800-487-4722 so that we can assist you in finding a cost effective plan that best suits your needs.

The best time to purchase travel insurance is right after you put money down towards your trip. Some policies include time sensitive benefits which are but not limited to pre-existing condition waiver, financial default, Cancel For Any Reason and Cancel For Work Reasons. Most plans require that you purchase a policy within 10 - 30 days of your initial trip payment, and insure all prepaid non refundable trip costs to receive these time sensitive benefits.

I could never have made my decision and purchase without the help of your customer care representative. The choices are too overwhelming and time consuming to review. With a few specific questions, the representative suggested a plan for me and told me of the extra benefits this one had compared to others. I felt confident that if I needed something, I would have coverage. The representative was just awesome. I would use you again. Thanks!

CSA both nationally and abroad were absolutely fantastic! They reimbursed everything-even calls I made to them that couldn't be placed as collect due to where I was calling from. I got everything I claimed w/out any hassles. Great service when I was in Europe as well. Will definitely use them again w/o a 2nd thought! Don't forget to bring your policy with you!
