The airline I booked my flights with began changing flight times a few weeks before my departure. They must have changed one or more of my six connecting flights, to and from my destination daily. At some points it was obvious I would not have enough time to get to the connecting flight gate. I thought the trip would be over before it started. Luckily I had bought insurance soon after booking the flight. As luck would have it the final flight times made it possible to make every connection and the trip went as planned. A little assurance for the unexpected helped stop a lot of panic and disappointment.

always satisfied with generali policies: didn't need to use this one AND on a bright note, got paid for small hotel claim on a past policy with little issues to get the funds!!.... thanks guys!

Generali Global Assistance Preferred
I made a claim and was, eventually, compensated. However, it took many weeks, and Generali didn't give me information about my specific claim agent, so I couldn't get any answers outside of the automated system. It was frustrating to just sit and wait without knowing whether the claim was processed or not. In the end, I was reimbursed, so it turned out well

I am always stunned by the cost of travel insurance, but Generali seems to offer the best coverage for the price. I've traveled quite a bit and seldom had reason to use my insurance, but on the one or two occasions when I have, I've been very grateful to have it!

We never got to go on our trip that was planned for October 25, 2019, because on October 23, my healthy husband had emergency heart bypass surgery. Needless to say, vacation was the furthest thing from our minds. I alerted the airline and the travel company to delay our departure for six months to April 25, 2020, but I failed to contact insurance company. When I did, it was past our departure date. I didn’t want to file a claim because we are still planning to take the trip. We asked for the insurance coverage to be reassigned to the future dates for the same trip. We received no satisfaction, no compromise, no consideration. It’s all business, no humanity. Just pay again if insurance is needed. No thank you...

Purchasing the insurance was easy. We didn't have a claim so I can't comment on whether they actually come through for the customer when a crisis occurs. It is best to read reviews of people who had to use their services.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
This was the first time that my wife and I purchased travel insurance. Our Japan excursion was a major event with a sizable financial investment and we wished to have adequate coverage in case of an unforeseen trip cancellation. Happily, all went well but part of the relative ease of the trip was knowing that we were well covered.
