I purchased this plan in December for a trip in March. It had a ten (10) look back (whatever that is). I called to cancel the insured trip because my wife suffered a set back from open heart surgery six months ago. She spent over three days in cardiac ICU in February and was advised against making the trip at this time.. I was told that there would be no refund or transfer to a trip rescheduled in September because of the 10 day lookback. I feel that that is unfair especially since there would be no claims from the trip because there was no trip. Very unhappy customer.

My trip went as planned with no reason to file a claim. I was glad to have coverage in the event of a problem, but was happy to not have to use it.

I felt secured and protected when my dad contracted the norovirus on board the ship. I took him to the Medical Center without fear of the cost. Luckily, because of the medical condition, the cruise ship did not charge us for the visit, the injection, the pills, or room service. The cruise doctor called my dad every few hours to find out how he was doing, and finally lifted his quarantine after 48 hours. It was great knowing that we had insurance just in case. Thanks.

Fortunately, no coverage was needed. Therefore it's less of a value. But, I'm not complaining...it's wise for travelers to take out insurance as you never know what might come up.

Most important thing is peace of mind, knowing that in an emergency everything will be taken cared of to recover unexpected extra cost burden...glad that everything went smooth during the entire trip...glad to be back home safe

Since I did not have any issues or claims to file, it is difficult to assess how the insurance actually "works"! However, it seemed to cover what I needed to have covered. It is always good NOT to have to use the insurance!

I bought your insurance many time and see how it changed in not good way. Medical goes as a secondary. This is new option now.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The CSA Travel Protection Custom plan is a solid, comprehensive plan with an extensive list of covered events for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, and Travel Delay.

    For a valid medical claim CSA Travel Protection requires all bills and reports for medical and/or dental expenses claimed, any requested information related to the claimed expense(s), including but not limited to, an explanation of benefits from any other applicable insurance, and a signed patient authorization to release any information required by us, to investigate your claim.

    The large majority of travel insurance providers offer excess or secondary insurance. However, we do have several plans which are primary. In the future, please give us a call at 800-487-4722 so that we can assist you in selecting a plan that best suits your needs.

I did not need to file a claim although I was delayed 12 hours. I called CSA from the airport to inquire about coverage and what are my options if would not be compensated by the airline. CSA representative was extremely informative and helpful guiding me exactly what should I do if needed to file a claim. I most certainly would consider CSA policy on my next trip!

Nothing of consequence happened so we never made a claim. Price was lower than many other offers though I still think that charging 5% of the cost of our trip for insurance was unreasonably high.
