Buyer beware of the waiting period for this travel insurance. We purchased this policy on a Sunday for a trip starting in 6 days on the upcoming Saturday. We found out on Monday morning that a family member passed away on Sunday night so we proceeded to cancel our plan tickets, tours, etc to mourn, spend time with our family, and prepare for the funeral. I filed a claim for reimbursement of non-refundable fees like our plane ticket, museum tickets, etc. We just found out that our claim was denied since the policy did not start until 12:01 AM the next day. Our family member passed away at 11:58 PM on Sunday (3 minutes before the policy was in effect on Monday). Be aware that you will not be covered until the waiting period is over, even when faced with a tragic circumstance like the passing of a family member.

Luckily I had no reason to file a claim, as my 15-day trip went smoothly, so I have no experience in having any issues or losses addressed by Insuremytrip. The online application process was quick and easy, and the price was reasonable, so I will likely use this company again.

I can only speak from the vantage point of not having to file a claim. Insurance is one of the few things that you pay good money for and hope that you never need to use it. The plan covered my priorities and, when compared to other plans, was reasonably priced. I always purchase travel insurance before a major trip and priortize medical and evacuation coverage. Those two items can add up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in extreme cases. This policy fit that bill.

While in Paris, our trip was interrupted due to thefts from pickpockets, but Generali reimbursed us for our losses after we provided them with the police report and copies of receipts/bills verifying the losses.
