It's hard to review the Global Underwriters claims policy because no claims were made. I guess that is a GOOD thing; that all went well and I did not need it.

I way I read the policy, it does not cover you until you leave the US. So I assume that if you have a flight to New York, for example, on your way to connecting for an overseas flight and have problems or a delay then you are not covered.
