Fortunately for us, we have never needed to file a claim for any travel insurance policies purchased. I suspect the true time for me to evaluate the quality of the InsureAssist TravCan Premier insurance and customer service is when I actually need to file a claim.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. Typically, comprehensive policies can be amended prior to the scheduled departure date. In general, increasing the covered trip cost and/or extending the travel dates will result in additional premium. Even though I did not file a claim. I was very happy with the process to be insured. What I really liked was the email I received just before my trip began summarizing the coverage and all pertinent phone numbers I would need.

We contacted Insure Assist when we arrived home to tell them my Canon 60D camera had been stolen in Sydney, Australia. They provided information for us to file a claim. We had filed a claim with our regular home owner's insurance. When they paid us a partial payment, we submitted this information along with our documentation to Insure Assist. We filed the claim 11/24/14 and were notified they would make payment on 12/10/14. Received the check about a week after that on 12/19/14. Very pleased with this company. Have used them in the past for travel insurance and will continue to use them as the need arises. Very, very pleased with their handling of the claim and their personnel.

This the second time we bought insurance form InsureMyTrip. I found the process of procuring the insurance fairly easy. No high pressure from the representative, he was very helpful in making my decision, and answering my questions. Should I need trip insurance again, I will most definitely go to this company first. I don't know how they are if a claim is filed. I've had a bad experience in the past with a different company. These folks describe a good process that, if it works as they say, will make the claim process easy.

Wish it were not necessary, but trip insurance at this point - for baby boomers with elderly parents still alive - is just a necessity.
