Thankfully we didn't have to test the value of the insurance, or the ease or difficulty of the claims process. It was nice not to have to worry, and having the medical insurance be primary was a key point for me. The program I bought was significantly less expensive that the program offered by the tour operator, with very similar coverage.

I had gotten a quote on insurance and was giving information to the other couple we were traveling with. Went back in a week later to buy the plan, which I got a quote on, and because my husband and I had a birthday within that week the quote was deemed not valid because our age changed and the price went up over $125.00!.

The three biggest factors in determining the cost of a comprehensive travel insurance policy are: the cost of the trip, the length of travel and the ages of the travelers. If a traveler has a birthday between the time they receive a quote and the time they purchase the plan, the cost of the plan may increase.

I didn't need to use the InsureAssist TravCan Premier insurance but on a trip to India I was glad I had it. Price and coverage were better than the insurance offered by the tour company. I also liked the fact that most of this insurance is primary pay and not secondary (if I ever did have to file a claim).

As always, the piece of mind is worth the small cost. On a previous trip when I did need the InsureAssist TravCan benefits, I was payed fairly and quickly.

As you could see from our website, our Comprehensive plans are the only plans that offer Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption. These plans automatically include Baggage, Baggage Delay, Travel Delay, Medical and Emergency Medical Evacuation which cannot be deleted. However we offer Comprehensive plans from 25 of the leading providers of travel insurance so, if you sort the plans by "Cost low to high", you can narrow down your choices to some of the lowest priced policies which generally include the lowest Baggage and Medical limits.
