The TravCan Premier plan is the higher-end comprehensive trip cost protection plan from InsureAssist as it offers greater coverage limits and more options than the TravCan plan. If you are concerned about any pre-existing medical conditions that might affect your travel, this plan will waive the pre-existing conditions exclusion if purchased within 21 days of the initial trip payment and if the full cost of the trip is insured.

Purchasing process was easy - spoke to a knowledgeable telephone representative who helped explain the difference between several plans. Sine we did not have to file a claim, it is hard to rate the coverage, but felt better knowing it was there if we needed it!

Signing up was painless and allowed me to tailor my options. I really appreciated having a reminder email with a link to a PDF of the policy sent to me a day or so before I left. I was happy to not need to use it, but since I was traveling solo on another continent, the peace of mind it gave me to have this coverage was worth way more than the premium!

On a transatlantic cruise, my husband suffered from toothache. The ship's doctor gave him antibiotic and pain meds and told him to file with trip insurance. We tried but were told that coverage was only for accident to healthy tooth. We had Premier plan which was far from premier.

I did not have to use the plan so I can't really say I was satisfied with it. However, the price was great and gave me more coverage for less money than most of the other more popular insurance companies. I liked that it allowed me to waive pre-existing illness clause if I purchased it within 21 days of my initial deposit. That was an important part in my decision to have purchased it.

Coverage seems awfully expensive for such a minor exposure. Reminds me of accident coverage we use to get for flying on a plane and then the credit card carriers started to give it away for free because the exposure was so small. Would love to see the loss ratios for this type of coverage.
