So, as always thankful that I didn’t need to use the plan I purchased for our travel protection needs. I hope that this will always be the case in future trips but I do have to say that I have been impressed with Insure My Trip for keeping consistent contact with us before, during and after our trips! It was not needed but it is great to have the peace of mind of knowing it’s there. I got it for a rental car we got and thought I was getting all the coverage I needed, but not knowing the terms meaning it did not have liability coverage only collision. A better explanation would have been nice for people that don’t understand what all the terms mean. I’m still glad I purchased it

This was the first time I ever filed a claim under a trip insurance policy. We needed to cancel our trip to the Canadian Rockies because of the wildfires, and the state of emergency in British Columbia. In the long run, it was fine, as our trip was covered fully. But it was a bit off-putting that we could only communicate by email, and the information we received was very basic. The claims form only had a small comment block to explain what happened, with no examples or lists of what to submit. I put together a timeline and a set of 8 tabbed documents. In return, I got a request for additional documents--by blandly worded email--with no way to tell if our first submission was what was required. After each submission, the email said it would be about 10 business days for the next step. They tended to beat that schedule, but the uncertainty was always there. Today, I found out that our claim would be paid in full--we should get it in about 10 business days. So, all is well, but a bit of personal contact and explanation/reassurance about what to submit would have been nice. I have received that on my rare car or home owners' insurance claims.

You never know how good a policy and company is until you file a claim. Fortunately that was not necessary. I always use Insure My Trip because their agents are knowledgeable and very good at answering all my questions. There's never any pressure and I feel comfortable with their recommendations.

Everything was peaches and cream when the sales rep (Melissa) was taking my credit card for the full payment on day one. Of course, I wanted to take this trip, or I would not have booked it in the first place! When I developed severe medical issues that were well documented by two licensed physicians, I had to cancel any travel plans. When I filed my claim, IMG immediately began interrogating me like a hardened criminal! After more letters and forms completed by the doctors, they still spoke to me like I was lying to them!! They said that they usually took 30-45 days to review all claims. My case was documented, truthful and accurate……but they acted like if they ignore me long enough I might drop it and just go away. Only after weeks of my persistence, the claim was approved and THEN I was told it would be Two Weeks before they might pay me! Not a nice company to deal with!
