There are multiple medical limits to select from, ranging from $10,000 to $500,000. This plan also offers Emergency Medical Evacuation and Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefits, as well as hazardous sports coverage. There are also many 24/7 assistance services included with this plan.

Convenient for selecting desired coverage! Easy to use and appreciated receiving Medex card to take on trip with necessary contacts if we needed them. Did not have a problem but good to know we had coverage!

Unfortunately, this policy cannot be extended during travel. Fortunately, the plan offers decent medical coverage for those without primary insurance in the United States who travel out of the country.

When the group of friends planned this trip and I mentioned that I should get trip insurance, I was told it would probably cost $200 or more....it did not! It did not even cost $100 to get the coverage I wanted. I wanted medical, trip interruption, lost luggage insurance among other things.
I have been insured with InsureMyTrip before for an international trip and there was a claim filed; it was handled very fast, no problems! I highly recommend InsureMyTrip!

The MEDEX TravMed Choice Outbound plan is considered a Single-Trip Medical plan. Medical plans also include coverage for medical evacuation, accidental death, lost baggage, and trip interruption. Your friends were likely anticipating that you would purchase a comprehensive policy to cover trip cancellation. Comprehensive policies are more expensive than medical plans because they are designed to protect the cost of your trip, and offer a larger variety of travel benefits.Jan 31,2015

I did not use the coverage for anything other than peace of mind. One of the travelers was pregnant, and were relieved to know we were covered for emergency medical expenses related to a complication of pregnancy. I have no idea how well this would have worked in practicality since we did not utilize the coverage. InsureMyTrip made searching for the right coverage easy.

Thank you for your feedback on the policy. MEDEX TravMed Choice Outbound covers complications of Pregnancy for conditions requiring Hospital confinement, whose diagnosis is distinct from pregnancy but adversely affected or caused by pregnancy, such as: a) acute nephritis or nephrosis; b) cardiac decompensation; c) missed abortion; and d) similar medical and surgical conditions of comparable severity.
Complications of Pregnancy will also include: a) non-elective cesarean section; b) termination of ectopic pregnancy; and c) spontaneous termination of pregnancy, occurring during a period of gestation in which a viable birth is not possible. However, the term Complication of Pregnancy will not include: a) false labor, occasional spotting, or morning sickness; b) Doctor prescribed rest; c) hyperemesis gravidarum; d) pre-eclampsia; or any similar condition associated with the management of a difficult pregnancy not consisting of a nosologically distinct Complication of Pregnancy.

Since I did not have a claim I don't know how the plan would pay claims. I picked MEDEx because I wanted to have some kind of coverage when I went skiing in Canada.

I have not had a reason to use my travel insurance policy, but the policy was easy to obtain online. It seemed to have covered everything I needed, so I had a peace of mind on my trip. The price of the policy was very reasonable too. I definitely plan to use this travel insurance again in my future travels.
