Even though we did not have to use the insurance just knowing that we had coverage was wonderful. Compared to the insurance that was offered by our cruise company this was a savings. I will always check with InsureMyTrip before traveling.

As an older adult, I like the peace of mind trip insurance gives me. This time everything was fine but we have had to cancel trips due to illness in the past and our claims were handled very professionally.

My original review of MH Ross was not very favorable due to MH Ross's processing of my claim. However, InsureMyTrip became an advocate on my behalf and with there diligence and persistence MH Ross finally paid my claim. The process was very exhausting for me due to the conditions which initiated the claim in the first place and I was ready to give up. However, the advocate didn't and stuck with it and took charge. She kept me informed the entire time and last week (4 months after date of injury) she was contacted by MH Ross with the good news that all parts of my claim were being paid. The representative was professional, helpful, caring and understanding and I will always use InsureMyTrip to select my choices for travel insurance. Thank you for being the bright spot in this experience. I feel like I have made a friend for life with her.

    The best time to purchase travel insurance is right after you put money down towards your trip. Some policies include time sensitive benefits which are but not limited to pre-existing condition waiver, financial default, Cancel For Any Reason and Cancel For Work Reasons. Most plans require that you purchase a policy within 10 - 30 days of your initial trip payment, and insure all prepaid non refundable trip costs to receive these time sensitive benefits.

    If you typically purchase trips well in advance, we advise you to insure the intial deposit within the required time frame. You would then call us to add subsequent trip payments onto your existing policy within 10-30 days after making each trip payment. By proceeding in this fashion, you would be able to secure travel insurance that includes time sensitive benefits.

    Thank you for your review. We do receive many requests for an annual policy. Unfortunately, the multi-trip policies available at InsureMyTrip are designed to cover only medical emergency and emergency medical evacuation. There is no coverage provided for trip cancellation or delay of travel. Certain medical multi-trip policies will cover baggage loss, but only for a small amount and only for checked baggage.

A month after submission of a very well documented claim, I called for a status since the online claim tracker hadn't moved for two weeks. No one answered; however, the voice mail said someone would call back within 24 hours. No one did, but I got the same "will call you back within 24 hours" message. Again, no answer. I called again and actually got a person. They found my claim and said it would be expedited and I would hear from her in 3 workdays. At the 5 workday point, I called again and was told the claim was being reviewed and should be completed shortly. Evidently the claims work overwhelmed the available staff and everything was behind. Finally, after 2 1/2 months, the claim was paid.

    “Thank you for writing a review and making us aware of your negative experience with your claim. I understand you are dissatisfied with the time it took for your claim to be paid and our communication during the claims process. You are correct, you filed a very well documented claim, and Trip Mate did not process your claim quickly. Our goal is to process your claim within 10 business days once all documentation is received, and we failed to achieve this goal with your claim. Being responsive and communicating clearly is a priority for our customer service team, and we fell short of this, as well. We agree that it is unacceptable to promise a call back and not fulfill that commitment. Please accept my sincere apologies for the frustration associated with your claim. We truly appreciate you sharing this feedback because your experience will help us improve our training and better assist other travelers.”

I had a small claim for the 3rd passenger of our cruise. The claim was primarily for air and cost of reinstating miles. It took about 6 weeks, but I was very satisfied with the response. All I had to do was submit invoices and a letter from the employer denying vacation. The claim processed with no issues. I will definitely purchase through this company again
