I was sick and could not go on my trip. We had to cancel. We filed a claim with all documents and received our due insurance payment for our coverage. The only improvement I can suggest is better communication about the timing it takes to process. There is one company that handles claims for multiple insurance companies, so they are overwhelmed. I didn't even get a notification that my claim was processed. I only knew when I received a check in the mail. Other than that, everything was as promised and I will use them again.

Originally I hadn't taken a plan when I booked my trip. Then I thought it's hurricane season and I think I need a plan. I looked through all available plans and decided on Nationwide. Thankfully I didn't have to use the plan - however there was a time with Irma and Maria spinning off the coast of the Dominican Republic that I was glad that I had the coverage. For $80 you can't go wrong.

I purchased the coverage, but truly I cannot rate it since luckily enough I did not have to use it. What was offered seemed reasonable, but what truly makes the plan worth it is the easy reimbursement of money spend, when needed, and not finding ways by insurance company to avoid reimbursements and stating that certain things were not covered based on their interpretations.

We did not need to make a claim, but family traveling with us had to cancel and did file a claim. Nationwide's call center representative gave misleading information that our family's claim would be covered. After submitting the claim it was denied. It wasn't until we later appealed that Nationwide offered coverage.
