Did not need OnCall. We buy insurance every time and hope we never have to use it. Evacuation is the most frightening possibility since such plans do not go into effect unless one is critical.

Traveling in an unsettled and violent part of the world for a conference was a choice, and the trip to Israel could not have been more interesting. However I was glad to know that if needed, I could be taken to medical help immediately.

When I called about the International Ins. plan I received very clear, concise answers and was e-mailed the information promptly. One reason I selected this company because they were the only one I checked that had 24 hour live customer service for non-emergency events. They also covered Haiti, a country on the US State Department travel warning list.

I think "Medevac" insurance is one of the best trip insurance plays you can make.....especially when a long way from home or out of the country.
I recommend it to all my friends who are traveling out of the country. If you're seriously injured a long way from home, the last thing in the world you want is to be stranded for financial reasons.
Granted, it's one of those ironies of life: it's a policy that you purchase, praying fervently that you'll never need to find out how well it works!
How much is "peace of mind" worth?
