Since we were fortunate, and had no problems on our trip, it is hard to rate the service. We were traveling with our whole family (6 adults and 3 children under 7), so there were things (job problems, illnesses, etc.) that could have caused us to cancel. Given that the costs for non-refundable items were high, this insurance was worth the peasce of mind it gave us.

I will never insure with this company again. Have purchased several trip policies and made one claim this year due to illness. Always had to call in to find out the status. Took forever. We site showing status is worthless. They denied the claim according to what isn't covered obviously hidden in their 34 page policy. Customer service was not helpful every time I called. Like pulling teeth to get information.

We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. I haven't submitted a claim because the amount spent on a doctor visit isn't much more than the deductible and not worth the time to fill out a form. What was very useful to me was that I had a number to call to find out about medical services in Florence, Italy. You supplied me with information in a timely manner and followed up later. I am very satisfied with the service provided.

First the good: we were (eventually) reimbursed for the full amount of our prepaid airfare when we were forced to cancel this trip due to a medical emergency. Also, the claims reps I dealt with on the phone (3 occasions) were most courteous and helpful.
The not so good: The trip was cancelled and the Roamright claim filed in early November, 2016. I just received the checks for reimbursement on February 26, 2017. I had to call early on to determine the reason for the delay. I was notified in December that I had failed to submit proof from the airline of trip cancellation. (I wasn't aware from the claim form that this was needed but maybe I didn't read the fine print). So I immediately sent an email with proof of airline cancellation. (Good thing I formally cancelled instead of just being a no-show!). Several weeks went by with no response from Roamright. So I made another call and they said they had still not received proof of cancellation. So I re-submitted the proof a second time (aaarrrgh!). Still no response until I called a couple of weeks later. Then, the news was good: the checks were in the mail.
In the final analysis, I did get compensated for the full value of the nonrefundable airfare. But it shouldn't take 4 months to achieve this satisfaction, and more communication initiated by Roamright would have been most appreciated.

We like the assurance that if something happens, and we need to cancel the trip, our "trip dollars" are not sacrificed. And we are happy to say we have never needed to cancel.
