I purchased travel insurance for a plane ticket. When the program was canceled and my daughter had to return home, we had to purchase another flight home. After waiting 9 weeks for the claim to be processed, we were denied, saying that it was not a "covered reason". Why did I buy insurance if the trip cancellation has so many loopholes that it won't pay? I will NEVER buy insurance from you again and I travel quite a bit. Furthermore, I will review you negatively on every site I can find....and tell everyone I know NOT to use you.

I purchased the plan many months before my trip. I thought it was nice that right before the trip began, I recieved an e-mail with directions on how to file a claim and how to get help if I needed it. Fortunately, I had no reason to contact anyone.

I haven’t received the check yet, but was told it was in the mail. I broke my leg 2 days before my trip. I provided the information you requested and received the phone call in a very reasonable amount of time. I will be calling you next year when I TRY to take the same trip. This has been a very difficult time for me, thank you for making this part very easy!

Satisfaction with the plan was rated 4-star as I did not need to submit a claim. Rationale why the policy was needed: I wanted to obtain a medical and evacuation policy. Though I did not need it for trip cancellation and interruption (I used points for the airfare and my credit card provided some degree of trip cancellation and interruption coverage, this policy came with it, which was a nice bonus. In addition, I was not seeking a Cadillac plan - just a policy for some coverage in the unlikely event of a terrorist event in the destination cities. Finally, the cost was extremely reasonable for my spouse and myself.

I didn't actually file a claim but I thought I might have to. I called the concierge service for help to re-book my flight & possibly get a hotel room after my flight from JFK was cancelled. They were useless. After multiple times explaining that I wasn't looking for an explanation of coverage, and actually needed help, the rep spent 40 minutes finding a so-so flight option the next day, with no mention of a hotel for the night. She then said she'd have to transfer me to Delta to actually book the flight, and transferred me without giving me any of the information about the flight. I was then put in a 2 hour queue. Totally wasted time, and no help. She did less than I could probably have done on my own.

Although Travel Insured initially seemed like the best price for what we were looking for, as we added more costs to our trip the Travel Insured price became prohibitive. Unfortunately, we were already locked in. In the future, before I choose a plan, I'll submit an estimate of the total cost rather than just the initial cost, so I can better choose a reasonably priced plan.
