It's one of the few plans to offer primary medical coverage, not secondary. This is important if you are of Medicare age and have a supplemental plan with foreign medical expense reimbursement. It would be a hassle having to claim under Medicare supplemental first.

Glad I didn't need it. But glad we had it. Sales lady was knowledgable, courteous and fast. Much cheaper than using insurance offered by cruise company (with less coverage).

I invested in this plan specifically because I had booked a trip early in the year and it was uncertain if I would still be living in the United States or Mexico when the time came to travel. I was assured the policy would cover cancellation if I was living in Mexico and couldn't make my flights. When I called to file a claim because I was in Mexico at the time of the trip, I was told that situation was not covered. In my estimation, applying for this coverage was a waste of time and money.

This is the second time we've purchased travel insurance for vacations through Insuremytrip.com. With me having preexisting conditions it gave such peace of mind to know that if something were to happen that we would be able to get the help we needed while out of the country. Also to know that should any unforeseen circumstances prevent us from going on the trip at the last minute that we would be able to recoup our paid expenses.
