Difficult to review as I didn't file a claim , however, my son was going to have surgery and depending on the date, I was going to have to cancel my trip. I contacted the insurance company to find out what would be involved with canceling, could I cancel only part of the trip, fly home early, etc. The representative put me at ease right away and made it all sound less complicated than I thought it would be. She was reassuring and helpful, but luckily I did not have to cancel the trip or submit a claim.

We have been purchasing your insurance for all of our extended foreign visits for several visits. So far we have been lucky enough to not need to use it, but I like having the security of knowing it is there. My husband is a senior citizen and I am not far behind, so I feel it's better to travel on the cautious side than not to travel at all. Thanks for being there for us!

Since I didn't have to use the insurance, I can't comment on whether the coverage was good or not. I do know that information which I was told I would receive by mail when I purchased the policy arrived while I was on my trip. I made several calls prior to my trip when I did not receive what I was told I would receive. I called customer service again when I returned home, but still don't have an explanation.
I have bought many travel insurance policies for previous trips with other companies and I will likely go back to one of them for my next trip.

Fortunately, I did not have to submit a claim so the coverage of the policy was fine. The cost of the policy was reasonable but like most people I feel that if it was cheaper, that would be great. I would recommend Travel Insured to others.

Although we did not have to make use of our coverage it was comforting to know that we had it.
Having purchased other plans previously, I feel that the coverage it afforded was a good value. Life is uncertain at best so you can never say never.

The best outcome for an insured event is to NOT need to use the insurance. Once again, I have had the best outcome.
On the same trip, my friend, DID need it when she had to fly home early for a death in the family. I'll be interested to read her reviews, after the the claims are cleared.

I've used TripProtector a couple of times but have never had to file a claim, so I can't give much of an endorsement other than to say it sets my mind at ease. The one trip I didn't have trip insurance was the one with airline strikes, volcanoes, etc so I do this now just to relieve stress.

I'm giving it 4 stars because I called to file a claim for $82 for a visit to our ship's doctor - minor problem which required a $55 visit fee plus meds. Agent told me there is a $50 deductible and I need to prove that my insurance will not pay. I am on Medicare which does not pay and it's not worth my time to file with the supplementary insurance (which won't pay either because it was an international trip). Disappointing deductible. Had I known that in advance I may not have purchased this particular insurance or perhaps I would have suffered through the problem!!

The policy does state that there is a deductible. The point of the low deductible is to make the policy cheaper by excluding small and trivial expenses by all such policy holders. If no deductible, the policy premium would have to be higher to offset all the minor claims.Nov 14,2014
