Worldwide Trip Protector
We did not have to use any provisions of the Travel Insured Worldwide Trip Protector insurance plan, which was a good thing. However, there was an airline strike in Europe so we were concerned about our options in the event of flight cancellations. The Travel Insured representative was very helpful in explaining our coverage and easing our minds regarding what to do in the event that the strike action cancelled our flight. Our itinerary was complicated, and the strike action was against the airline flying us on the first leg, so we had to decide whether we should take a train, a bus or rental car to the next leg, and we had to decide this before we knew if strike action affected our flight. Because of the phone call with the Travel Insured representative, we decided to wait and not pursue the other options. When the strike did not affect us or our plans, we returned home as planned. Thank you, Travel Insured.

Luckily we didn't need to file a claim with Travel Insured. We returned from Paris hours before the attacks of 11/13, and so we were close to very different circumstances. We also appreciated being reminded by email of my insurance details before we left for the trip.

We had to cancel our trip on 3 days notice because my brother was hospitalized with a severe GI bleed on June 8, 2015. When I called the Travel Insured number to inform them, the woman was very sympathetic and helpful, immediately emailing me all the claim forms. Eventually when I sent them all the claims forms Travel Insured mailed me a check for the entire amount of the trip.
