The price was right, and customer service was excellent. I liked the automated e-mails that confirmed coverage and offered the link to file a claim. The trip was fine, and we had no claim. As you read other reviews, make sure claims are being paid! Those reviews are more important than this one. When I picked, I liked what I saw from people who had claims.

Since I did not have a reason to file a claim, I can't comment on that aspect of my purchase but I found the experience very positive. It was easy to fill in the query and select a plan based on my requirements and budget. I always recommend insuremytrip to friends looking to buy travel insurance.

This will not only provide higher medical coverage but the limits on baggage loss, baggage delay, trip delay and medical evacuation will be increased as well. Because of numerous delays by Amtrak we were delayed over 10 hours reaching our interim destination after 1:00 am Sunday morning.We were supposed to continue onto our destination by Metra public transportation but no trains run at that time of day.We called Travelex earlier in the evening and was told by the representative that since this was not a medical emergency and did not involve a distance in excess of 100 miles to call back during regular business hours,Monday through Friday.Downtown Chicago for two seniors in there 70's toting two suitcases each is not safe and a 47 mile taxi or Lyft at that time or any time is not cheap..... We feel this is one more case of insurance thats great until you try to use it .....enough said.

Travelex prides ourselves on our exemplary customer service and providing the benefits available to you on the policy purchased. We would like the opportunity to review the phone call made which references to call back later during business hours. Our Travel Assistance Company does assist in situations where there is a delay in transportation. This can be anything from helping to find new transportation to assisting with locating hotels to stay in.
However, we are unable to locate a call to our Customer Solutions Department, or our Claim Administrator from the phone number listed on your policy. We found one call to our travel assistance provider, OnCall International, however it was a bad connection and the call disconnected before the conversation was competed. We have been unable to locate any further calls.
Based on additional communication with you and InsureMyTrip’s review team, we will consider your inquiry closed. We empathize with the unfortunate situation you experienced with the train and the lack of cell phone service.
Our goal is to provide our travelers with the high level of service that they expect. Thank you for your business.

Cannot speak to how well they handle claims as we had no need to file one . We chose this company as it allowed us to buy the coverage we needed without having to buy coverage for a lot of items we didn't need (such as coverage that might be needed outside of the US). There were still some items (we are retired so wouldn't need the loss of job coverage) but it would be hard to have a policy designed just for us with out increasing the overall cost due to added manpower needed for such policies.

I have never had a claim on travel insurance so I cannot say how good it is. How a company pays a claim is the way I would judge the insurance I buy. So up to now I can only say that you do a good job of collecting the premium but how you pay a claim I do not know......
