    The policy premiums are based on the age of the travelers, length of trip and cost of trip. Please also keep in mind that you selected a TravelSafe Classic plan which provides as much as 100,000 USD in primary medical and 1,000,000 USD in emergency medical evacuation per person along with the preexisting condition waiver.

Not much to say. This plan covers all our needs, and is very reasonably priced. We just "set it and forget it". I will be purchasing it again in a couple of weeks to cover our next cruise.

Had to leave cruise due to death in family. Had all the info and sent in a claim, got paid. It was that easy. I always buy insurance, unfortunately (or fortunately) we had to use it. I strongly recommend buying.

I did not have to use the plan so I cannot rate how the claim process is; however, the peace of mind having trip insurance for a 13 night transatlantic cruise followed by an extended stay in Europe was worth the cost. Comparing this plan to others, it provided great coverage for a reasonable price.

I didn’t have to use the coverage on this trip, however, I did have to file a claim for last years trip due to my father in law passing away while we were on a cruise. All expenses I sent in were paid and the process was easy. I was told that due to other natural disasters at the time that there were many claims ahead of mine. I had no problem with that and highly recommended to all!

We filed a claim in October 2017, for a November 2017 cruise that we cancelled. There were several hurricanes that increased their response time, which is understandable, but We had "cancel for any reason" insurance and we didn't receive our insurance reimbursement until April 2018. It took 6 months to go through the claim process. They would say they needed additional information and then two weeks later they would ask for new information that they could have asked for in the previous contact - it seemed like they were trying to delay resolution of our claim. They took so long that they threatened they were going to close our claim request because we provided an "invalid" cruise reservation number - it turns out it wasn't invalid at all, it was archived by the cruise line since it was so many months after the actual cruise date. They did pay the amount we expected, but taking 6 months to pay us is way too long.

    Thank you for leaving a review regarding the length of your claim settlement. The amount of time you waited to reach settlement was too long. We are sorry for the inconvenience and the frustration it caused. We are taking important steps to make sure claims are settled promptly, including increasing the number of adjusters we have available. I purchased this plan for a significant trip that was planned well in advance. Unfortunately, major family health issues required me to cancel the trip about a month before the departure date. I promptly filed a claim, and spent hours pulling together the extensive paperwork that was requested (proof of reservations, proof of cancellations, documentation about the medical issues, etc.). TravelSafe/TripMate's response seemed to be to stall, delay, request additional paperwork, and (seemingly) hope that I would give up and go away. After submitting paperwork (by mail or online), it generally took TripMate about 1 week to acknowledge receipt in their online system, even if I called to confirm that they had already received the paperwork. Then there would be a delay of several weeks, before I would receive a request for additional documentation, which often duplicated documents I had already sent (or were slightly different versions of prior documentation). I always promptly responded to the requests and sent the requested documentation so that I would not delay the process. My claim was finally approved about 3.5 months after I initially started the claim. However, the reason my claim seemed to finally gain traction was that my travel companion (same trip/insurance/reason for cancellation) contacted the InsureMyTrip advocates after receiving no response or updates about her claim after several months; the advocate quickly got her claim resolved and paid. After notifying TripMate that my companion's claim had already been paid, my claim was finally approved and paid about 2 weeks later. Overall, this process seemed far more complicated and slow than necessary; I do not plan to purchase travel insurance through this company again.

    We are sorry to hear that the TravelSafe / TripMate claims process was so difficult. Although the processing did take an unusually long time, TravelSafe / TripMate was fair in settling your claim and providing payment as you confirmed.

    It was unfortunate that you were unable to take advantage of the services of an Anytime Advocate much earlier in the process. If you should ever have to file a claim in the future, please be sure to contact us to request assistance if you do not hear from the claims department within 30 days of submitting your paperwork, or if you believe that your claim was unfairly denied.
