I bought the insurance on Sep 28. On Oct 7 war broke out in Israel. However, the travel company did not cancel the trip officially until after Oct 23. I had bought the insurance in case of illness— not cancellations— I was a “guest” not entitled to any refund. But when I asked to cancel the insurance after Oct 23, I was told I only had a 14 day window from the purchase. I would have to have cancelled the policy even before my trip was cancelled. So I paid for nothing.

We had booked a pilgrimage to Israel. We had to wait until the pilgrimage company officially canceled. They sent us the paperwork necessary to file a claim with our insurance. Once I receive that paperwork I was able to submit the claim with Insure my trip, within a week of filing. I am so happy we purchased insurance.

I had peace of mind knowing that I was covered for medical emergencies while overseas, especially for medical evacuation if it became necessary. Mercifully, I did not need to use the coverage but it gave me confidence knowing it was available to me.

We got caught up in that mess at Newark airport in June 2023. United moved our connecting flights to the next day while we were in the air, and there was an approximately four-hour line just to talk to a rebooking agent. No hotels, no rental cars available in the area. I submitted my claim for the flight since it was of no use to us being a day later, and I was VERY happy with how quickly AIG Travel Guard resolved my case. Thank you so much. This was my first time ever submitting a claim, and I was worried it would take forever, but it was completed in about a week's time.

It seems to be extremely expensive for a policy REQUIRED by touring companies. My annual auto insurance policy is less expensive than 12 days of your trip insurance.
