Plan I selected was cheaper than the one offered by the Travel company, with almost identical features. Fortunately did not have to file a claim.

Fortunately, I had no problems with my travel and so did not interact further with the insurance provider after buying the policy. The coverage appeared to be very good but was not put to the test.

AXA Assistance USA Gold
We filed a claim when one of our travel companions was seriously injured (precluding travel for 3-4 months) approx 2 months prior to our trip departure. As a result of that injury, we cancelled our trip. As our travel companions were not relatives it was critical that we were able to document that our injured friend was a "travel companion" as that is a term specifically defined in the policy. Once our claim was filed, our insurer was professional & courteous in all regards and fully paid our claim approximately 4 weeks after our claim was submitted. Based on our experience, AXA is a first class, professional operation in all regards. We will never travel again without an insurance policy from AXA.

Since I did not have any issues or claims to file, it is difficult to assess how the insurance actually "works"! However, it seemed to cover what I needed to have covered. It is always good NOT to have to use the insurance!

I bought your insurance many time and see how it changed in not good way. Medical goes as a secondary. This is new option now.

    Thank you for your feedback on the policy. The CSA Travel Protection Custom plan is a solid, comprehensive plan with an extensive list of covered events for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, and Travel Delay.

    For a valid medical claim CSA Travel Protection requires all bills and reports for medical and/or dental expenses claimed, any requested information related to the claimed expense(s), including but not limited to, an explanation of benefits from any other applicable insurance, and a signed patient authorization to release any information required by us, to investigate your claim.

    The large majority of travel insurance providers offer excess or secondary insurance. However, we do have several plans which are primary. In the future, please give us a call at 800-487-4722 so that we can assist you in selecting a plan that best suits your needs.

we had one delayed bag by Delta. They sent to us within 3 days to Africa. Is there any compensation your policy provides in addition to Delta or only the difference if they don't cover an expense? Thank you

    Thank you for your question regarding submitting an Travel Delay with InsureAssist who would reimburse You for the expense of necessary personal effects, up to the maximum shown on the Confirmation of Coverage, if Your Checked Baggage is delayed or misdirected by a Common Carrier for more than twelve
    (12) hours, while on a Covered Trip.
    You must be a ticketed passenger on a Common Carrier. Additionally, all claims must be submitted with verification from the Common Carrier of the delay or misdirection. You must also provide receipts for purchases which must accompany any claim.

CSA Travel Protection Custom Luxe
In my own case I purchased the insurance strictly for the auto coverage. The auto rental company in Italy refused to recognize my policy, so I was forced to buy their insurance. So, I ended up not saving money, but having to buy the auto insurance twice.
