AIG Travel Travel Guard Platinum

Like the other comprehensive travel insurance plans from AIG Travel, the Travel Guard Platinum plan offers a number of travel-related benefits to protect your travel investment.

While it features the highest coverage limits of protection offered by AIG Travel, it does have several time-sensitive benefits to take in to consideration, meaning that you have to purchase the plan within 15 days of your initial trip deposit to be eligible for those coverages. This plan offers optional Cancel for Any Reason (if all eligibility requirements are met) that can be added on to the plan for an additional premium. This will allow you to cancel your trip for any reason, not just the list of covered reasons on the plan and be reimbursed up to 50% of your pre-paid, non-refundable trip cost.

If you meet all eligibility requirements and purchase the plan within 15 days after making your initial trip payment, this plan also offers a pre-existing condition exclusion waiver that will expand coverage to you in case an injury or illness is due to a prior medical event. Other time-sensitive benefits include Accidental Death & Dismemberment, and coverage for financial default of a covered travel supplier.

In addition to insurance coverage, there are also assistance services that may be helpful prior to and during your trip. Whether you need travel information, including visa or passport information, or a medical referral while on your trip, you are able to access these services 24/7.
