The Platinum plan has the highest benefit levels of all the InsureandGo international plans. The plan offers trip cost protection up to $15,000. It provides protection for your standard travel needs and acts as your primary medical coverage while you are abroad. This plan covers an international trip lasting up to 45 days in length.
The Global Platinum plan covers trip cancellation and trip interruption if due to a covered reason. You can find the list of covered reasons in the full certificate of the plan. The plan also provides coverage for baggage loss, baggage delay and travel delay. These benefits will provide reimbursements if you should need extra accommodations due to a travel delay (that meets the requirements) or to purchase necessities while waiting for baggage.
As noted before, the Platinum plan provides primary medical coverage while you’re traveling internationally. This will allow you to streamline any necessary claims process due to medical reimbursement. You may be eligible for the pre-existing condition waiver if purchased within 14 days of your initial trip payment and certain conditions are met. If you do not qualify for the waiver, then the pre-existing lookback period is 60 days. The effective date for this plan would be at 12:01am the day after you purchase the plan.
The plan also has coverage for emergency medical evacuation/repatriation. If you should become ill or injured while abroad, this coverage will help to transport you to an adequate medical facility if your attending physician deems it necessary. Your travel insurance company will work directly with the medical facilities to arrange the transportation.
Finally, like all InsureandGo plans, this plan includes 24-hour emergency assistance, travel assistance, concierge services and roadside assistance.
