The Manulife Emergency Medical plan is available for purchase for Canadian residents who are travelling out of their home province. To be eligible for coverage, travellers must be under the age of 60. This plan offers up to $5,000,000 CAD with a $0 deductible for unexpected emergency medical care including physician services, ambulance services, semi-private hospital accommodation, prescription drugs, diagnostic tests, treatment by registered specialists/therapists such as chiropractors and physiotherapists, emergency dental coverage and more. Also included with this plan is coverage towards the cost of bringing someone to your bedside and/or transporting you home.
With the Emergency Medical plan, there will not be any coverage for a loss pertaining to a pre-existing condition that was not stable within the 3 months prior to the effective date of the policy. This Manulife plan is available for purchase only before you have departed on your trip. If you have already departed on your trip, do not purchase this Manulife medical insurance plan as you will not have any coverage.
