TruTravel Insurance Premier

The TruTravel Premier plan offers the highest benefit limits of the two plans and allows a per person trip cost up to $75,000 to be insured. This plan has been designed to offer higher limits of coverage, and optional coverages, while not breaking the bank. It is recommended that you purchase this plan within 21 days after making the first payment or deposit toward your trip so that you’ll be able to take advantage of time sensitive benefits, such as the pre-existing condition waiver and optional Cancel for Any Reason.

This is a comprehensive travel insurance plan, meaning it offers both pre- and post-departure benefits to cover the typical concerns of most travelers. Along with a long list of covered perils, this plan also offers optional Cancel for Any Reason benefits, which if eligible, allows cancellation of your trip up to 2 days prior to departure for any reason. Reimbursement under this benefit is up to 75% of your pre-paid non-refundable trip cost.

This plan offers up to 100% reimbursement of your pre-paid non-refundable trip cost if you suffer a covered peril, such as an unforeseen illness or injury and have to cancel your trip prior to departure. Trip Interruption benefits are also available for covered perils, and can reimburse the unused portion of your trip cost, as well as help defray the cost of an emergency one way ticket back home.

Emergency medical benefits are also available to reimburse you for the cost of covered medical treatment you may need during your trip. Emergency medical evacuation benefits are available in the event the company and attending physician decide you need to be moved to a better equipped hospital.

In the event an emergency evacuation is necessary, would you know where to start? It’s actually pretty simple. Just call the 24/7 emergency assistance number provided, and they will take over the situation while keeping you informed every step of the way. This is a very important piece of information to keep with you in the event of an emergency. There are many other essential services provided from emergency travel arrangements to language services.

It actually offered more coverage than we felt necessary for us. It seemed to meet our requirements best of those plans I viewed, though. We decided to go for more, rather than less, coverage.

I always purchase travel insurance when visiting Alaska for the peace of mind. Many places and tours are far from a hospital in case of an emergency, but with the insurance, I don't have to worry about the cost of transport if something should happen.

Excellent plan with good options. Did not have to interact or file claim, so cannot evaluate customer service.
