Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
I have been buying travel insurance here for years, although it is my first time using it for claim due the luggage lost/damage caused by the airline company. After talking to the claim center, I received the email with detailed instructions regarding the necessary documents. After getting all these documents emailed, I received an auto reply saying that the processing time would be about 15 business days. However, on the 8th business day after I sent all claim documents, I just received the check in the mail. Super efficiency that I am so impressed! I knew that I purchased travel insurances from other companies here mostly based on the price, some terms sometimes say processing would take up to 25 days. I must say Nationalwide is doing a fantastic job! I will purposely look for Nationawide for insuring my next trip for sure!

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
As others have noted, since the insurance was not used, it gave me good piece of mind to have it while traveling. After reading many, many reviews, I was skeptical that I would be adequately reimbursed should something happen on the trip. I found myself reading and re-reading the benefits and thinking through exactly what paperwork would be necessary in the event X happened. That was a bit more bandwidth then I had to spend before leaving for this trip. In the end, I figured if i got some reimbursement in the event of a loss, that would be something.

they lost my bag and walker in l.a. .was in china over week and .iam getting the run around on my to fileing my claim.i had to buy all my thing in china and meds. did not have my size.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
Did not need to use the insurance - thankfully - so I do not know the ease/difficulty to file a claim. But the price and coverage was what I wanted and it was a much lower price than my Travel Company offered. Will use this plan again as necessary.

AIG Travel Travel Guard MedEvac Plan
Plan covered all the items I wanted and at a reasonable cost. Fortunately, I did not have to use it. This is the 5th trip I have taken and have used Insuremytrip each time.

What you are not told when you purchase a plan to cover your nonrefundable plane fare is that, if you have to cancel your trip, the airline will charge you a change fee and give you a credit for the rest of the fare you paid, and, since you have a credit, the insurance company will only cover the change fee. Your alternative, according to the insurer, is to tell the airline you don't want the credit, but then if for some reason the insurer doesn't pay, you've lost that money.
