I am not a fan of travel insurance - and only purchased it b/c I was traveling with my 76 y/o mother.. I have no idea if it is a good plan or a good value?? Thankfully we did not have to use it.

Generali Global Assistance, which has an AM Best rating of A, is a full-service travel insurance and assistance provider. Formerly doing business as CSA Travel Protection, they continue to offer quality plans and service as they have over the past 25 years.

    Comprehensive plan premiums are all based on the traveler's age, cost of trip and length of trip. The Generali Standard plan often quotes as one of our most competitive plans, but this does not detract from their quality of coverage which you can see by clicking on any of the blue hyperlinks within your quote.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Universal Cruise
This was my first time purchasing cruise insurance. I'm very glad I did. Hurricane Maria decided to change our plans. Filing the claim was easy. Everyone I spoke with over the phone was helpful and courteous. My claim was processed fast and efficiently. Don't think I'll ever travel again without purchasing insurance.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
I tried to use the insurance to help get money and not a credit for my flight back from Turks and Caicos since we canceled our trip due to the Hurricane since our resort is closed until next month and I could not use the insurance due to it being purchased after the hurricane was announced. I was not aware when I purchased the insurance that we could not use it for this reason. I would have never wasted almost $100 purchasing the insurance. Since the resort themselves closed and this was out of our control I thought the insurance would cover this but I did not research close enough I guess before getting the insurance. When I called she was very polite and explained the reason behind it.

    In order to find hurricane specific coverage, you must purchase the policy prior to when a storm is named. Once a storm has been named it is considered a foreseen event.

Thankfully we didn't need to use our insurance and unfortunately we were unable to go to Turks and Caicos because of hurricane Maria but we we went to western carribean which was awesome

I have never bought trip insurance before. I compared and this was the best price and seemed to cover everything. I did not need to use the insurance, fortunately, but it gave me peace of mind to have it

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Choice Cruise
We had to cancel our trip a month out due to a serious fall on my behalf. This caused a post concussion. Cruising with a concussion is not recommended! The process from start to check in hand took about 5 weeks. I had to mail in my forms because I could not upload the docs from home, which most likely caused a delay in the processing.

All in all the process was fairly easy. I was required to send in a lot of documentation, so KEEP EVERYTHING!!

The end result was we were paid back what the cruise line charged us as a penalty.
