Very dissatisfied with this insurance company.

I submitted a claim over 4 months ago. For an illness while traveling. Costs under 900 USD.
Okay... so I submitted the documents. I'm waiting for months, then finally they come to a conclusion and issue a settlement. Okay....

So, I login to see the details, and when I see the final settlement, they issued me a check.
What? I'm based in Europe, there's no way for me to cash a USA check. But the problem is, when I submitted the claim, I very clearly asked for a wire, and I wrote down my bank details, there in the form.

Okay, so I contacted them, and for over 40 days, they keep ignoring me and so far they don't want to issue a wire.

???? Is this some kind of clever way to not pay settlements?

4 months total in waiting and they still can't deal with my claim.

I'd say try other insurance companies, definitely not this one.

Since my kids were born and we started to travel with them, I always buy insurance now, just in case. And we travel a lot, never got to file a claim, until our last trip, where my son got sick and required some treatment while we were abroad. I collected all papers and filed a claim online, the process was easy. The only drawback was complete lack of response. The status online was showing "the claim is under review", and the status has not changed for 2-3 weeks, then I started emailing them online asking to give any update or at least give some estimation on how long it might take. No answer. Then I called them, and very polite agent told me they will expedite my request. The very next day I got the call that my claim was approved and they have mailed the check. I got the check within 5 days. So, I am satisfied that my claim got approved and paid off. The only drawback was the lack of communication and updates on the progress.
