Seven Corners Liaison Travel Basic
I didn't have to make a claim (thank goodness) so I have no report. The plan did seem to offer good coverage at a fair price, which is why we purchased it. We always take out travel insurance - to not do so carries a great risk. You never know when you'll need it. In the past we have made claims (not with Seven Corners Liaison) one time for medical costs and another time for luggage delay. Both were promptly paid by the insurer. I can't understand why people will spend thousands of dollars for a cruise or trip abroad and not spend another couple of hundred dollars for travel insurance.

Fortunately, I had no need to use the insurance plan...but I will comment that it was easy to choose what I wanted/needed and purchasing the plan was a snap! Insuremytrip website does a great job of letting you compare plans and pricing. This is my fifth time using the site and I've been pleased each time with the ease of use.

Highly recommend CSA. Quick response time to claim. One of the few good travel insurance copanies out there. Would buy insurance from them again.

TravelSafe Classic Plus
We felt comfortable knowing that all aspects of our trip were covered. Luckily, we encountered no problems. Having travel insurance was like a safety net....in case. Having never bought travel insurance for a trip like this before, we have no way of knowing if the insurance cost was high or reasonable.

April Travel Protection Choice
We used this policy to reimburse us for my husband's visit to the cruise ship's doctor. While we were still on the ship, I used the email address specifically provided to us by April Travel Protection to communicate with them while at sea. Basically I just wanted to find out what we needed to provide in order to file a claim so that I made sure we got all of the documents before leaving the ship. However, I received no response back from April, so I needed to call them from the ship. When I spoke to a rep I told her I had emailed the address provided and got no response back, she kept repeating that they respond to emails within a certain time (it was way past the time frame she said). Not a great start in terms of customer service.

However, she did email me a claim form with instructions and when we got back home I followed the claim instructions carefully and had no problems getting reimbursed for the full amount of the ship's medical center charges. (Although on their summary of benefits that came along with the check they got the patient name wrong and listed me as the patient instead of my husband -- it didn't affect the payment but I noticed they got that wrong.)

So, I would probably use April again as they processed the claim quickly and completely and had good coverage, but I do wish they were better about responding to their email and paying attention to who the patient was.
