When my iPad was stolen at the airport in Paris (within 24 hours of departure from Atlanta), I was determined not to let this dampen my spirits for my long awaited trip to Eastern Europe. I am glad that someone my age can obtain coverage but it's a huge chunk of money, and stuff like pet coverage and other stuff in package is unnecessary.. One of the most hazardous places is actually when a transfer from one plane to another takes place in Amsterdam or other big airports and only one hour between international transfers. Last year I got sick on the next plane due to dehydration. This year asked for electric cart that works.

I got this insurance for myself and my daughter at the last minute after speaking with a pediatric nurse who flies to other countries to pick up children and bring them to the US for treatment. She told me how expensive it was to be medically transported. My own insurance would reimburse for basic medical emergency treatment, but not transport. For the price it was well worth the peace of mind.
