Travelex Travel Basic
After many changes to flights and accommodations I finally had to cancel the trip entirely. When completing the claim form I listed the departure date as the latest one after all the changes, which was about a month later than the original departure date. WRONG thing to do! Always list the trip's very FIRST departure date, not the final departure date after all the rescheduling. Apparently the claims adjusters didn't read the back up info that I included showing all the costs and an changes to the departure dates; they only looked at the final departure date and disallowed the costs prior to that date. They sent me a partial reimbursement check which was approx. ½ of my total claim I resubmitted my claim along with all the backup data (again) showing the original departure date and they finally paid the balance of the claim.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Choice Cruise
Even with adding on coverage and premium the plan (like many others) is too expensive. For example, you have to pay for coverage of the entire cruise fare when you pay it even though much of it is refundable if you need to cancel 3 months out. For the small amount that was covered until the last couple of months the premium is excessive.

    Each Company will base the premiums of their plans by 3 main factors; (1) the ages of the travelers, (2) the length of your trip from home to home and (3) the total cost of your pre-paid trip cost. On top of this premium, when adding additional coverage, such as Cancel For Any Reason, the premiums will increase. Since the insurance is providing coverage for a larger risk, the premium you pay will also go up accordingly.

April Travel Protection Choice
I filed a claim on 27 July 2017 but did not receive payment until 2 October 2017. This long of a wait is absolutely ridiculous. And no hurricanes had hit as of 27 July, so that is no excuse.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
We had to file a claim for this same trip last year. My husband had a severe infection and was told not to travel. Nationwide was so easy to work with in covering our prepaid costs, so we didn't hesitate to use them when we re-booked our trip this year. Thankfully, we had no difficulties this time around.

TravelSafe Classic
We have used 'InsureMyTrip' for many years for our cruise travel insurance company and have been pleased. This year we had to cancel a cruise and filing a claim, "Trip Cancellation Claim ID 6336742", was a horrible experence! I only asked for a mere $596 refund! Trip Mate was handling the claim here in Kansas City, MO and I sent the necessary paperwork at the end of May. Time dragged on and on, and finally they indicated they transferred my claim to another 'agency' and lost all my documentation. I had to re-send paperwork two more times, talk to a respresentative several times, and it took until August to actually receive the insurance claim money! This whole insurance processing department appeared inexperienced and and inadpt at processing a claim. It is doubtful we will use your insurance company again!
