This was my first experience purchasing trip insurance and they made it a breeze. I had to call and speak with a representative who thoroughly explained everything to me. She then emailed me my options so that I could do further research. I was able to purchase a plan that worked best for me. I did end up filing a claim with John Hancock Insurance, and they walked me through everything step by step. It took a bit to get the claim resolved, but it was not outside of the time frame they had given me. I highly recommend this company!

AIG Travel Travel Guard Basic
Upon landing in PHL, I noticed that United had smashed my double hardcase Sporttube. While there was no damage to the skis, the case was ruined. United wrote up a claim but would only offer me a $75 voucher. I only use frequent flier milage when flying United so the voucher was of no use to me and didn't even cover half of what a new Sporttube would cost. After trying multiple times to reach a representative in United who could help me, I turned to AIG. Their response was courteous and in short time they refunded me the entire cost of the double Sporttube. I will definitely use them again on any of my trips and I would recommend them to any travelers, especially those flying United.

Allianz Global Assistance Basic
My husband & I, both in our 70s, were driving from our home in NC across the US to spend the year in CA. We're in excellent health, but I was concerned that if we had an accident or one of us were hospitalized for a long period, the logistics and cost of getting back to NC would be prohibitive. I was so happy to learn about Allianz; although known for covering international travel, they were fully able to meet our needs for our extended domestic travel.

With my daughter being sick then me, did not go on the trip. Neither was sick enough to go to the doctor. Knew how to take care of ourselves at home. Ernestine would not go alone, so she missed the trip too

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
I have used Nationwide plans for cruises and vacations out of the US and have coverage for another upcoming trip. I will not travel without Nationwide coverage in the future.

AIG Travel Travel Guard Flight Guard
One of the other great things about my experience with Travel Guard was the Customer Service. The various representatives I spoke with were always courteous and friendly, took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions. Nowadays, Customer Service goes a long way in customer satisfaction, and Travel Guard gave me one of the best Customer Service experiences I've had. It's also nice that they don't have innumerable computer-generated menus (just a very few) you have to go through before you reach a representative. Good Job Travel Guard! Thanks for the great service.

Claim was mailed to Trip Mate on 10/03/17. Case was closed by Trip Mate 11/27/17 and claim was approved. Refund check was dated 11/27/17. Envelope was post marked 12/01/17. Received on 12/07/17. Why does it take 2 months to get this done?! The premium is required to be paid within 14 days of the initial deposit, in order for the pre existing conditions to be waived. All documentation to proof the claim was provided. In the age of electronics why is this so cumber some?! Looks like what's good for goose is Not good for the gander?!

    Trip Mate, who handled your claim on behalf of TravelSafe, generally expected to finalize your claim and provide payment within 30 days or less of receiving your claim. Unfortunately an intense hurricane season increased the number of claims and delayed that turnaround time period from 60 to 90 days. As you know, Hurricane Irma struck from August 30th to September 12th; Hurricane Jose ranged from September 5th to September 21st; and Hurricane Maria from September 16th to September 30th.

Luckily I didn't have to submit a claim so I cannot give a good review. Coverage could be better and less confusing. It all sounds very confusing and ridiculous. The process to buy vacation insurance shouldn't be so complicated. It should be direct and to the point. We're not buying permant life insurance here for crying out loud
