They processed my claim very fast through their client portal and sent the reimbursement via direct deposit within 10 days of the claim. After having tried other old fashioned insurance companies, this was the best news during my illness while traveling abroad. Highly recommended!

I am not sure how to rate since I did not have to claim. Only good thing having travel insurance is that it will give you a peace of mind knowing that you have the insurance in case something takes place. I am glad I did not have to claim.

April Travel Protection Choice
my trip was unexpectedly interrupted by my wife's altitude illness at 12,000 feet. April Insurance reimbursed me for my portion of the group trip costs as well as lodging costs after the interruption. However, I was unable to speak to anyone at April and they only responded via email. This lack of personal contact was disappointing. It took about 7 weeks from submission of the claim to receive our reimbursement.

I guess the best case scenario is that we didn't need to use it, and that's where we stand. My daughter did come back from India very sick, but it was good to know that if she had needed the coverage (got sick earlier, while she was still in India), then she had good coverage. Some of the other students in her group did get sick enough to be medically evacuated. The policy didn't cost that much, and I'm glad that we had the peace of mind.

HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Preferred
Claim settlement is very disappointing. They didn't consider even additional $50 expenses apart from insured amount which I had to spend in preparation of trip for which I did provide appropriate receipt as well. Usually other insurance companies do consider this so DO NOT buy HTH worldwide trip insurance.

AXA Assistance USA Platinum
I have bought AXA plans 4 times and will continue to do so because the one time I filed a claim, it was promptly processed. That is what I expect. No hassle. I sent the required documentation. No questions were asked. The claim was processed.

MEDEX Take Me Home - Single-Trip
Did not have to file any claims. Had some difficulty finding exactly what I wanted on the web site - which was emergency
evacuation only. It's very important to have some sort of insurance when traveling in the 3rd world. Will use company
again for extended 3rd world trips.

April Travel Protection Choice
The only issue I had was it wasn't clear till after I had bought the plan and started my trip that the plan was specific for where you started, ended and went on your trip instead of if you are multiple people traveling to a certain location. So I bought coverage for two (my girlfriend and I) but since we were coming from separate places she wasn't covered and I couldn't get my money back. Otherwise, it was a good plan and had good coverage.

In order for two or more travelers to be covered under a single policy, most Comprehensive Plans require that they reside in the same state with the same dates of travel and itinerary. According to your April Travel Protection Plan, "Traveling Companion(s) means person(s) named and traveling under the same reservation as You, person(s) booked to accompany You on Your Covered Trip, person(s) sharing travel arrangements with You, or a person or persons with whom You have coordinated travel arrangements and intend to travel with You during the Covered Trip. Note: A group or tour leader is not considered a Traveling Companion unless You are sharing room accommodations with the group or tour leader."

Although did not need to use it (make a claim), had a great peace of mind knowing my trip was covered for any unforeseen situation. I recommend for those taking an expensive trip, especially overseas.
