I needed an evacuation plan for my trip. Got the coverage at a low cost. Simple to sign up. I will use AIG in the future.

Relieved that I did not need to file a claim, there isn't anything to write a review on with this plan or with TruTravel other than some "peace of mind" perhaps that if needed I was covered...I hope!!!

I guess the old saying still holds true, namely that you get what you pay for. This policy appeared to be a good value, but the coverage was less than expected. Specifically, I lost a day of touring because of a traveling companion's medical problems and expected a reimbursement for that day's loss. Instead, I was informed that no benefits would be paid. The plan apparently says that for an all-inclusive tour like we were on, pro-rata benefits are payable only if an, "entire day, including the overnight accommodations, must be missed." Although we spent our touring time in the local hospital's Emergency Room, that is not sufficient. Some of that is my fault for not reading ALL the FINE print, but what is NOT my fault is that it took 6 months for them to reject the claim. This is, therefore, not a company I would be quick to ever use again.

Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing customercare@insuremytrip.com, explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

We luckily didn't have to use the plan, so hard to judge the value. However, although very pricey, we were glad we had this in our back pocket in case we needed it.

Generali Global Assistance Standard
Plan was too expensive. Most of the plan was already covered with my credit card and personal insurance but wanted a little extra insurance for peace of mind. The cost was very expensive for that extra peace of mind. I have been using insuremytrip for 5 years now. This was the most costly. I will have to rethink for next year to see if it is really worth it.

I have no idea if they would have provided good coverage had I needed it, since I did not have to make a claim. I know they turned down my claim I had on the last trip prior to this. Fortunately, my trip this time went without any snags.
