AXA Assistance USA Platinum
Your website did not make it clear when I should purchase my plan. As a result, even after I queried the help desk and they replied, I did not buy my policy greater than 14 days before my trip. So, I paid more for it than a greater than 14 days before the trip policy I had found when searching earlier. Again, unclear that if you buy the policy more than two weeks before the trip, it is cheaper and you get a better selection of policy. Please make this more clear in your information.

    We usually recommend that you purchase a plan within 10 to 21 days (depending on plan) of your Initial Trip Payment so you may qualify for any time-sensitive benefits, including but not limited to, the Preexisting Condition Waiver, Cancel for Any Reason and Financial Default coverage. However, you may choose to purchase any of our plans up to the day before you depart on your trip.

    In answer to your comment on paying more for a plan within 14 days of departure, there really is only one company on our website offering two Comprehensive plans that may differ in premium depending on the date of purchase. All other Comprehensive plans, including AXA Assistance USA, base their premiums on age of traveler, trip cost and length of trip and do not increase or decrease the closer you get to departure.

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
Thankfully everything went smoothly with trip and didn't need to use the insurance, and I thank God daily for my good health and safety and I didn't need to use the insurance for any medical conditions. Was good to have the peace of mind of knowing it was there if needed. I felt price was reasonable.

Luckily I didn't have to use my policy. Just having it gave me peace of mind to enjoy my vacation. I have had some health problems in the past year so knowing help was a phone call away was priceless

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Luxury Cruise
The plan itself looked good howerver, We did get into a pickle with a flight delay and almost didn't make our cruise. We were not sure if the insurance would cover the missed cruise/air fair do to airline delays of a runway being shut down in San Francisco. Tried to call customer service which didn't know anything. Said we had to call claims which is only open business hours monday-friday. WAS NOT HELPFUL. Need a 24 hour 7 days help/ claims line since customer no service knows nothing. We had to buy another ticket on a different airline, extra expense we didn't need, but we made it.

    All travel insurance plans do offer 24 Hour Emergency Assistance while you are on your trip. This information could have been found on page 22 of your certificate.

    Your Nationwide cruise plan offered services through On Call International Travel Assistance Services for 24/7 travel assistance services. On Call has a toll free number: 855-258-0333 (within the United States and Canada), or you could have called 603-952-2037 collect. (From all other locations).

I will not need to file a claim (thankfully!), so I can't really rate satisfaction. I chose it because the coverage and ratings seemed good.
