We fortunately did not need to use the insurance on this trip. However, in the past, we did need to make a claim, and the customer service was efficient, helpful and there were no delays.

Allianz Global Assistance Classic
Health issue prevented me travelling.
I was charged $200 fee to cancel airline tix. I was not reimbursed this extra cost.
I was refunded airline tix price ~ $1313 after ~30 days and several paperwork submissions.

ALWAYS HAPPY NOT TO HAVE TO USE THE INSURANCE...!

BUT, THE ONE TIME I DID A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO..WAS VERY QUICK AND COMPLETE SERVICE..!

I FIND IT SO EASY AND QUICK TO USE.. THAT WILL CONTINUE..AS IN PAST.. FOR ALL TRIPS..!

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
Insurance plan was reasonably priced and covered items we needed. We didn’t need to file any claims. So I can’t speak to how this would be handled.

    Political, Military or Civil Unrest at your destination or acts of War are specifically excluded under Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption on all comprehensive policies on our site. To obtain cancellation coverage for these concerns, you would need to purchase a policy that included Cancel For Any Reason.

    There are typically 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider: Purchase the policy within 10 - 21 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Trip arrangements must be canceled more than 48 -72 hours prior to the departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, this benefit will typically reimburse you 75% of your trip cost, unless otherwise noted.

We've (fortunately) never had to use the insurance, but it's peace of mind to have it. The representative on the phone explained the plans well and even suggested the one we picked - and it wasn't the most expensive. We always use this site.

It took 5 months for my claim to be processed. That is ridiculous! I called every 2-3 weeks and every time they would say it would be completed in another 2 weeks. Crazy!
