I didnt need to "use" the insurance (which is good news). But in the past, I've had to file a claim and was quite impressed with the entire process.

Allianz Global Assistance Classic Trip Plus
Happily, we didn't need to submit a claim, so I can't speak to the validity of coverage. However, every time I called for information or with questions, the customer service was excellent.

CSA Travel Protection Custom
I would recommend CSA to everyone who travels abroad, I didn't need to use it -Thank God! - but it was there if I needed it. For only $120 the coverage was thorough and covered anything you could experience. I plan to use them again the next overseas trip I take!

CSA Travel Protection Custom
CSA processed my claims very fast. I had an accident on the day I arrived to my first destination and it ruined my whole trip as I was hospitalized and not allowed by the doctor to do any activities. I came back with my original air ticket and filed my claims as soon as I received my claim form filled by the doctor from overseas. CSA processed my claim much faster than my own health insurance that took several months to process my claim. For trip interruption, CSA approved my claim within 5 business days. I had to wait for long on my health insurance reimbursement but it was due to the delay from my primary medical insurance. Once I received the explanation of benefits from my medical insurance, CSA mailed me the check to cover the amount not paid to me by my medical insurance. I will never travel without trip insurance. And CSA will be my first choice as I am extremely happy with their procedure.

HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Preferred
Communication with the company over the email connections did not work. Tryed at least 7 to 9 times to reset password. Never did get it to work. Called the company directly, and they requested information that was not needed, and had to resend duplicate paperwork. In the end, I mailed well over 25 documents, some more than once. Finally on about the 3rd call, I walked step by step our claim. At that point, lady made more notes, but it took an additional couple of weeks to get paid. Should not have been that hard, during this difficult process, I would have liked HTH to call me, instead of their web mail, which I could not get to work. In the end, I got about 90% of what I claimed, so I guess that is ok.

Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing customercare@insuremytrip.com, explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

We received your additional documents and the claim was reprocessed in the beginning of April. Our claims turnaround time is 3-4 weeks from when the documents are received. A plan is only as good as how it responds to claims filed. My claim was received on 3/6, yet no action was taken to process it until I had made 2 phone calls (3/27 & 3/31). Then it took more phone calls and another 3 weeks until I received claim payment. Whenever I called, I waited at least 10 minutes to speak with a representative from Tripmate, the claims administrator. Their message was always the same "due to higher than expected call volume...". The call volume wouldn't be higher than expected if claims had been processed in a timely fashion.
Now, before I purchase travel insurance, I ask who the claims administrator is & have eliminated any companies that use Tripmate.

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection ExactCare Family
Fortunately, we did not have to use any of the provided coverages. However, it did give us peace of mind during our month long travel around Europe especially after a fellow traveler fell in Vienna and spent two days in the hospital.
