I don't know how good it is because, thank goodness, I didn't have to use it! I do think I would have been happier if I had been notified before purchase what system or company the insurance company had contracted with in Morocco and where in the country I could expect to find assistance.

My last trip was delayed and flights cancelled. AIG covered my return ticket and hotel for 5 days! Very quick response.

HTH Worldwide Trip Protector Classic
I was so glad to have purchased this plan and to work with the company on 2 claims for hospitalizations while I was in Australia.. It was a smooth, professional and positive experience, for sure.

Highly recommend CSA travel protection. There is a choice of plans and all are reasonable and compatible priced. I would not travel without a travel protect plan.

AXA Assistance USA Gold
Total failure by insuremytrip. My mother passed away four days before our trip. I was led to believe by the person I called I have full coverage to change the airline tickets. Since we bought tickets so early, and now having to change a flight from New York to Italy within a week the increased costs were over $4800, but again they said we are covered. So we scheduled my moms funeral promptly an delayed our departure by two days. Heart broken and sad over the loss of my mother we left for our trip at least feeling better believing the almost $5000 would be covered. I made all the proper notifications and filed a claim. They DENIED the claim and sent us a check for $200! They claimed the delay was not covered beyond $200. I appealed it only to be denied again...they said they would have reimbursed all of our money if we canceled, but since we were able to salvage our trip we are out over $4600 in additional costs! They have no heart and could care less about the customer...they promptly took our money but in true insurance company fashion denied our claim. It makes no sense canceling if you can delay....or at least so we thought. I would NOT buy insurance from this company!

    The AXA Assistance USA Gold plan is a Comprehensive plan which covers a wide range of perils and hazards for Trip Cancellation. Unfortunately, it was determined that the claim did not fall within the scope of Trip Cancellation because you would have had to cancel the trip with your Travel Suppliers to be covered under that benefit.

    Please consider calling us in the future prior to purchase so we can review the plan benefits with you and answer any questions you may have about coverage. We do want you and your fellow customers to be aware that InsureMyTrip offers a Customer Advocate Program. Customer Advocates are representatives assigned to assist customers who experience issues after filing a claim. Requesting a Customer Advocate is as simple as calling 800-487-4722 or emailing customercare@insuremytrip.com, explaining the events which resulted in a claim, and the challenges you are facing.

Allianz Global Assistance Basic
Two weeks before a trip to Thailand my wife sprained her knee, necessitating a trip cancellation. Per the guidelines from Allianz, I filed a claim totaling 21 pages. After 10 days, I called for a status report and was told the claim had been received, complimented for its accuracy and told it was being reviewed. The claim was paid in full in a little over 11 weeks. The reason it took so long was because Allianz ask for additional documentation which wasn't in the original guidelines regarding proof of payment or proof of non-refundable payments. Recommendation to policy holders: Along with proof from your travel company or carrier for payment include a copy of a cancelled check, bank statement or credit card statement. We were also asked to provide a letter from our Visa processing company stating that the payment for our visas was non-refundable. Providing cancelled checks or letters verifying non-refundable payments was not included in the claim filing guidelines. If they had been, we probably could have completed our claim in less than 5 or 6 weeks. By being patient, we were able to complete our claim and get 100% of what we asked for. We have since bought another Allianz policy for an upcoming trip and would recommend them to everyone.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Lite
Luckily we didn't need to use this policy this time. There have been ice storms and airline cancellations in our area. Didn't affect us this year. We have had to use in the past and they paid all our costs promptly.
