AIG Travel Travel Guard MedEvac Plan
I already have. If you can afford to take a trip "across the pond", you can afford to insure for things that might "go bad". We chose the evacuation insurance, because it is really expensive to have to fly back suddenly due to unforeseen circumstances. Happily we did not need to make a claim, but we knew we would be protected if we did.

April Travel Protection Choice
I found it difficult to obtain an actual declarations page showing what my actual coverage was. I usually use a competitor and have no trouble accessing this information and printing it out before my trip.

Allianz Global Assistance Classic
I like the ease of comparing/contrasting the different plans on the insuremytrip website, but even more, I like being able to read reviews from other travelers, and especially those who had to file a claim. Many of those who had problems with customer service from the various plans were able to get their issues resolved through insuremytrip's interventions.

All the companies charge too high a fee as far as I'm concerned, and that's why insurance companies are just about the wealthiest corporations on the planet. The fees for Allianz are about average for travel insurance.

CSA Travel Protection Custom
Sold as a "comprehensive policy", it is anything but. We had a complicated, multi-part trip to Africa, including a safari followed by a cruise. The cruise line went out of business two months before we left. CSA refused to cover this, even though the paperwork implies that it does: it excludes coverage for financial insolvency **if it happens within 14 days of the purchase of the policy.** Well, this happened three months after the purchase of the policy, and it wasn't covered. We ended up rebooking the second half of our trip, which required flight & hotel changes and many change fees. Guess what? This wasn't covered either. We bought this expensive policy because we wanted to be sure everything was covered. Never again!

    Comprehensive plans are designed to cover as many risks as possible, but is very rare for any insurance plan to cover all possible risks. The CSA Travel Protection
    Custom plan is a Comprehensive plan which covers a wide range of perils and hazards. Financial Insolvency is not a covered event on this specific plan.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
I have used C&F several times before and really like them. I did not have to file a claim this time around, BUT did file for another trip (which I did not review). I wanted to review them because they have been working with me on that claim from a previous trip and they have been great. It was my fault btw that we're still dealing with it, since I submitted very late. The claim is not finalized yet and that's the reason for the 4, but so far I'm pleased with the progress. I find Customer Service really responsive and they usually have the coverage I want for that specific trip at a reasonable cost.
