I appreciate knowing that advance medical payments came with this plan. It's one of the most important things a person should get when traveling. I've read all the horror stories online of people who went to the hospital, only to have their passports confiscated until they could pay 10's of thousands of dollars in healthcare IN ADVANCE. Your medical insurance won't pay until AFTER you are out of the hospital, so advance payments are a MUST when it comes to travel insurance.

AXA Assistance USA Gold
The plan is only valuable for catastrophic medical, since the cancelled flights and hotel rooms appear to not be covered since there was a bombing within a month of our trip, and we did not know to book the travel plan within 10 days of original booking. With war/acts of war, our trip to Istanbul was non refundable, so the plan was worthless to us. Going forward, I would do medical and not trip insurance. We are trying to get our money back, but not much help via AXA.

    Unfortunately, you purchased this policy on July 2nd for a terrorist attack that occurred at the Budapest Airport on June 28th. In order for this event to have been covered under your AXA policy, the terrorist incident should have occurred after you purchased the policy.

    We certainly understand your frustration upon finding that you had no coverage. Perhaps in the future, you will consider calling InsureMyTrip for quotes immediately after making your Initial Trip Payment to ensure that your policy includes coverage for future events.

We had lost luggage for 10 days. Turns out that they like to collect premiums but don't really like to pay claims.

    Upon receipt of your review, we did contact AXA Assistance USA claims department who advised that you did call AXA claims because you had a baggage delay. However, you did not wish to provide supporting documentation so you decided that you would not file the claim. Of course, we respect your decision not to proceed with your claim but supporting documentation is a necessary requirement when filing a claim with any insurance carrier.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Plus
I could not have been happier. This was the first time my husband and I got travel insurance. My sister also got it as the 3 of us were going on the same tour. We bought insurance because my father had cancer and we didn't know when the end might come. He died 4 days before the trip. The 3 of us decided my sister would stay with my mother while my husband and I went on the trip. My sister got a full refund including the extra flight to NC where the trip originated.

We stayed in Copenhagen a few extra days after the tour. On the 3rd day I fell and twisted my ankle badly, couldn't walk. We went to the doctor for a medical report and then made arrangements to go home the next day.

Travel Insured covered the extra cost of the flight change, taxis to and from the hospital, and to the airport. They were very helpful.

Will I get this again? Yes, definitely. We are in our mid-60s and want to travel feeling secure that if anything happens, we don't need to worry.

April Travel Protection Choice Family Plan
My flight with my two grandchildren was delayed first 4 then 5 hours. I called April to see if we were covered in any way for food, change of flight or in case of further delay etc. I was given another number to call three different times and transferred once. I gave up it was taking to much time calling and being put on hold. I had two children with me. When we came home from our vacation about four days later a call came from April. A voice mail said, I'm calling regarding some problems you had in your travel. I'll be sending you a claim form. We're looking forward to hearing from you. They didn't hear from me and never will again. I had my flight changed and flew into another airport since they weren't even sure it would be only five hours. April was of NO help whatsoever.

CSA Travel Protection Custom
The last leg of my flight from London was cancelled because someone set fire in air traffic control center at OHare. I was stranded overnight in Chicago with many others and couldn't get rental car home til the next morning when my rescheduled flight was also canceled. CSA refused to cover rental (even though United Airlines would not pay) because they said it was not a mechanical breakdown of aircraft or terrorist incident. InsureMyTrip.com rep said even though it was not technically covered, "I couldn't imagine the insurance companies we represent to not offer some sort of compensation or assistance." CSA std response is get a plan to fit your needs, but they couldn't tell me any plan that would cover my situation. What good is insurance if it won't cover that?
