C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
Very much a no hassle processing of our claim. I had forgotten to change the coverage dates when we had decided to make our first flight a day earlier. I explained this to a claims rep when we initially reported that we were cancelling the trip. When we filed our claim several weeks later after getting all the documentation together the claim was processed promptly without any problems, which we really appreciated. Particularly pleasing because I've occasionally read comments from travelers who have had lots of trouble getting payouts from coverage with other companies.

Guess I missed something. Our return flight was on a delay, and I was curious if there was any benefit to help extend rental car coverage. I tried to call, but the contact information said the offices were only open Monday through Friday...

    Unfortunately, the rental car collision damage waiver was not included the policy when it was purchased and was not added on prior to the departure date. Comprehensive plans such as the John Hancock Insurance Agency plan cannot be extended or modified on or after the departure date. However, it possible that the policy benefits that were offered/selected would have automatically been extended:

    "EXTENDED COVERAGE:
    All coverage under the Policy will be extended, if:
    (a) Your entire Covered Trip is covered by the Policy; and
    (b) Your return is delayed by covered reasons specified under Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption or Trip Delay.

    If coverage is extended for the above reasons, coverage will end on the earlier of: (a) the date You reach Your return destination; or (b) 7 days after the date the Covered Trip was scheduled to be completed."

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector
While the plan I purchased seemed to hit all the major features I wanted at a reasonable price, the true test comes if/when a claim is submitted. My trip all went according to plan, I didn't submit a claim so it's hard to give an accurate review on a product I technically never used.

Allianz Global Assistance Classic
The proof of how good a policy is is when you have to make a claim and how the company takes care of it. Nothing went wrong, therefore I cannot comment on this part.
