I purchased full coverage early enough to qualify for a Pre-existing Condition waiver, plus Cancel for any Reason. Unfortunately I could not travel as a medical condition came up just prior to travel. I notified the insurance company via email prior to the trip asking for guidance. I got a canned response with claim forms. I filled them out and even submitted a signed doctors note stating I could not travel. They say not to call for a while. A month goes by, I call to see that everything is in order. They say it will be resolved the next week and I should receive a check. I receive nothing. I call again. They are requesting documents that do not exist. You cannot produce them. My claim will not be fulfilled. I had to file a complaint the State Department of Insurance and the BBB. All this trouble over ~ $365. Avoid this company and policy if you just possibly might need to file a claim.

Price was reasonable. Can't say more than that other than customer devices people were very helpful in selecting plan, etc

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Essential
I do a lot of leisure travel and because of older siblings, I usually purchase travel insurance to protect myself should anything family related come up which would prevent me from traveling. The cost for this insurance from Nationwide was well within reason, surely a lot better than losing the entire value of my trip should I have had to cancel. Nationwide had a series of plans which made choosing a plan very simple. I had a simple trip, I only needed simple coverage. The coverage I selected was more than adequate for my needs. Based on this experience, I would certainly purchase travel insurance with Nationwide again.

According to our records, we did not receive an email (nor a phone call) requesting cancellation of your policy. Additionally, if you were to have cancelled 3 days after the conclusion of our 14-day free-look window, a refund for your trip cost would only have been given for a covered reason as outlined by your description of coverage, assuming you cancelled the entirety of your trip and not just the insurance.
