Peace of mind, but worth it. At my age health can cause trouble and makes this worth the cost.

Even though I didn't need to use the insurance, I came very close. Went to medical during my cruise for an injury. Didn't need to think twice about whether I could afford to go because I knew I had insurance to cover the visit. Triage nurse decided I really didn't need to be seen by the doc and therefore there was no charge. Was reassuring though that if I needed treatment it would have been covered.

Was glad I didn't need to use it. Someone else from my group almost didn't come due to medical issue and hadn't bought trip insurance. That emphasized to me the importance of the trip insurance!!

CSA Travel Protection Custom
Bought cruise insurance several times . Never needed to use it until this past February. Diagnosed with spine issue that required immediate surgery . Dr advised against travel . No problem .. I have insurance . Filed claim with all dr documentation, test results, etc ... CSA would not return my calls ... left several voicemails .. was even transferred to a supervisor after several days of no return calls . Answering machine says they will return calls within 24 hours .. been 2 weeks and I'm still waiting . Denied claim (of course) due to preexisting condition??? Received notice in mail .. would not talk to me in person. This is how this company operates ... they lost a good customer and several more as a travel with a group of 15-20 every time and they will also go elsewhere . Avoid CSA if you want insurance coverage that you can count on . Poor poor excuse BTW ... it wouldn't matter if I marked to have a representative contact me ... I waited for a month and left several voicemails for return calls . Terrible terrible service!

We are sorry to hear about your negative experience and the circumstances surrounding your claim. We take customer service and the claims review process very seriously and cannot stress enough to our customers that it is important to review the coverage details of our plans via the sample Description of Coverage/Insurance Policy that’s provided at the time of purchase, and contact us at (800) 348-9505 or via email at csa@csatravelprotection.com with any additional questions you may have. We have dedicated customer service representatives who can clarify the plan terms and conditions and guide you towards the best coverages. We also offer a free look back period with all of our plans to allow customers to cancel their policies within a designated period as long as they haven't already left on their trip or filed a claim. Our Trip Cancellation coverage is designed to reimburse you for your prepaid non-refundable trip costs should you have to cancel your trip due to an unforeseen covered event, such as a sickness or injury of yourself, a family member or traveling companion. While our Custom Luxe plan is able to provide coverage for losses resulting from pre-existing medical conditions if certain requirements are met, the plan must be purchased prior to the condition’s unforeseen worsening in order to provide reimbursement. We attempted to reach out to you on a couple of occasions while reviewing your claim and are sorry we were unable to get in touch with you. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please reach out to us at the phone number or email provided above.

C&F Travel Insured International Worldwide Trip Protector Lite
Only comment I have is that the email documents I received did not include easy to carry insurance cards. I was faced with having to make copies of 81/2 x 11 sheets of paper, very inconvenient. Other companies I have used in the past have included wallet size "cards" which are easy to deal with.

Travelex Travel Basic
As we all know, the primary goal of any insurance company is not to pay any claim. Therefore policy provisions can be configured to exclude issues which companies know may be more likely to occur. In our recent experience we had a delayed flght due to unavailability of a flight crew for on time departure. This delay caused us to miss our connection for a second flight to meet our cruise ship. This was a situation beyond our countrol

Our airline only had that one flight to the departure destination and their offer was to rebook us for a flight the next day, after the ship had left port. With some research we found another airline that could get us there for the second leg of our planned flight itinerary. We got those tickets and were able to make the ship departure on time.

Our travel insurance refused to accept a claim as any flight delay due to to any reason other than airline personnel strike, weather or mechanical problems was excluded. The crew unavailability caused delay was excluded. If the pilot had dropped dead on the jetway and the flight was cancelled, that too would be excluded. If the airport had been closed due to terrorist threat and flights cancelled, that too would have excluded. Insurance companies know this and therefore construct their polices so that only the very less likely issues would be covered. So, will I use this insurance or recommend this company to others. Definetely not.

Thank you for reaching out to us on InsureMyTrip.com (IMT) regarding your claim situation. Although you wrote this review on March 10, 2017, IMT just recently posted your review on March 31, 2017; therefore this caused a slight delay in our response time.

We are sorry to hear of your frustration. I have contacted the Claims Administrator on your behalf and have been advised that, to date, the completed claim forms have not been received by our claims department. Insurance is highly regulated and in order to confirm coverage, completed claim forms and documentation are an important part of the claim process, in order to validate coverage, as it relates to the specific conditions, as listed in the plan purchased.

The protection plan purchased is a Named Peril Policy meaning the policy outlines the coverage included and if the reason for trip cancellation or trip interruption is not listed, coverage does not apply. The Travel Basic policy you purchased offers 13 different reasons to cancel or interrupt your trip, please see the Description of Coverage for a list of covered reasons on pages 11 & 12. The Description of Coverage that was emailed to you on November 9, 2016 at 9:32am, when the policy was purchased.

In addition, the Claim Administrator has also advised that you were reimbursed by Spirit Airlines for your original airline tickets, but you are seeking reimbursement for the additional airfare. We empathize with your situation, unfortunately, crew rest (or unavailability of a flight crew) is not listed as one of the covered reasons. Having said this, I recommend you email Spirit Airlines for a detailed explanation regarding the reason for the flight delay, Crew Rest. Was the Crew Rest required because of an incoming flight that was delayed due to a weather or mechanical issue?

If this information is incomplete or inaccurate, we require completed claim forms and supporting documentation in order to properly assess the claim and determine liability.

Travelex makes every effort to review all concerns from our clients and we hope this provides clarification on the plan benefits and claims process.

    Kind Regards,

    Travelex Insurance Services, Inc.
Administration, Risk and Compliance Project Manager
Please note: All terms, conditions, exclusions and provisions of the plan apply. All benefits will be determined at the time a claim may occur based on the information and documentation submitted.
